At Least 98 Palestinian Individuals Have Died in Detention Starting From October 2023, Israeli Data Indicates

Other prisoners who perished in detention in Israel are unidentified. Correctional authorities and defense forces gave researchers with the total of deaths in custody, and minimal other details including the facility where they lost their lives, but excluding the prisoners’ names.
Identification Challenges
For 21 instances, mostly detainees from Gaza, investigators were not able to match the minimal data supplied by officials to a death recorded by human rights groups, either through statements from released detainees or reporting in the media.
