Our Purpose Is Solely Executing' - How Sudan's Brutal Fighting Force Perpetrated a Massacre

Fighters chuckle as they ride on the back of a pick-up truck, speeding alongside a row of multiple corpses and moving towards the setting African sunset.
"Observe such work. Look at this mass destruction," one shouts.
The fighter grins as he directs the recording device on his person and his fellow militiamen, their Rapid Support Forces insignia clearly shown: "These people are all going to be killed this way."
The men are celebrating a massacre that relief organizations believe resulted in the deaths of in excess of 2,000 people in the Sudan's city of al-Fashir last month.
A City Cut Off from the Outside
After maintaining the city under blockade for approximately two years, from the summer the militia proceeded to consolidate its control and prevent access for the surviving inhabitants.
Space-based imagery show that troops started to build a immense earth barrier - a raised sand barrier - surrounding the boundaries of al-Fashir, sealing off roads and halting aid.
